Job description

GoodParty.org is seeking an experienced political campaign professional with expertise in campaign management, field organizing, and voter engagement.

In this contract role, you will support local and state candidates and their volunteers from across the ideological spectrum, equipping them with the tools and strategies needed to win elections.

Success as an Organizing Associate means working directly with candidates and their volunteers, providing hands-on coaching, training, and strategic support to help them run stronger campaigns and build people-powered movements. You’ll assess needs, diagnose challenges, and deliver the best remote support through tools, training, and coaching.

About GoodParty.org:
GoodParty.org is empowering Independents to run, win, and serve so we can transform civic leadership. In 2024, we helped elect 3,444 Independent candidates into local offices across 48 states. Why?

Americans – especially young people – have been losing faith in democracy. The rigged, two-party system has turned “Independent” into a dirty word. Voters are trapped between choosing the lesser of two evils or sitting out elections altogether.

A majority of eligible voters (over 130M Americans), including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. But they keep getting re-elected! Whether you’re concerned about healthcare costs, wars, the environment, our individual freedoms, or inequality, many great solutions are held back by the dark doom loop of dysfunctional partisan politics.

While mainstream media and the two major parties focus on federal elections (Congress and the President), GoodParty.org is building from the bottom up. With over 500,000 elected offices in the United States—70% of which are uncontested—GoodParty.org is powering the movement to reclaim our communities from career politicians. We’re helping independents in local and state-level campaigns nationwide. Together, we’re building a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.

How?

GoodParty.org empowers independents to run, win, and serve in public office without the influence of partisan or big-money support. Through our free, AI-powered tools, we enable independent candidates to prioritize people over parties and community over corporate funding, transforming real people into civic heroes. We’re a platform, not a political party.

And, it’s working! Starting with 11 wins in the 2023 election cycle, GoodParty.org set an audacious goal for 1,000 wins in 2024. We beat expectations – 3,444 candidates won this past November and are serving in office across 48 states! 40.3 million voters (26% of all 2024 voters) cast a ballot for our 6,317 candidates. Our general election win rate was 54.5%.

Looking ahead, we’re building on our momentum and expanding our product offerings to help candidates deliver on their promises and serve their constituents effectively. Candidates who partner with us come from across the ideological spectrum and pledge to uphold people-powered principles, anti-corruption practices, and a commitment to civility. Together, we aim to transform civic leadership, bringing real accountability to public service and setting a new standard of leaders who prioritize the people they serve.

GoodParty.org is founded by serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit, with over $1B in exits — Flipagram (now TikTok), Shopzilla, and BizRate.

What you’ll do:

As an Organizing Associate, you will:

  • Assess and support candidates and volunteers through intake calls, identifying their needs and aligning them with the right training, resources, and tools.

  • Deliver high-impact training and coaching, both one-on-one and in group settings, covering campaign strategy, voter outreach, digital organizing, and community-building.

  • Develop and refine training materials, including toolkits, videos, and step-by-step guides, to equip candidates and volunteers with best practices.

  • Implement and optimize voter contact strategies, such as phone banking, text banking, and canvassing, ensuring volunteers are confident and effective.

  • Provide real-time campaign troubleshooting, offering tactical advice and problem-solving support to help candidates and volunteers overcome challenges.

  • Foster community engagement by activating volunteers in GoodParty.org’s digital organizing spaces and ensuring ongoing peer support.

  • Track and analyze engagement data, using insights to refine training, improve volunteer retention, and enhance overall impact.

  • Build a leadership pipeline, identifying and mentoring high-potential volunteers to take on greater responsibility within the movement.

  • Collaborate with the Mobilization Team to shape and improve the volunteer experience, from onboarding to long-term leadership development.

Who we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate has:

  • 5+ years of experience in field organizing, volunteer management, or political campaign operations, with a proven track record of developing and executing effective organizing strategies.

  • A strategic, self-directed leader with experience in high-autonomy roles, capable of shaping programs, setting vision, and scaling volunteer training efforts in partnership with the Head of Field and Mobilization.

  • Strong training and facilitation skills, particularly in virtual and digital environments, with experience designing toolkits, structured onboarding, and interactive learning experiences.

  • Expertise in AI tools and automation in order to enhance and scale organizing, streamline volunteer engagement, and improve campaign efficiency.

  • A data-driven approach to organizing, using metrics, analytics, and digital tools to optimize engagement, develop targeted voter contact strategies, and measure campaign success.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, excelling in relationship-building, volunteer motivation, and community engagement.

  • Proficiency with digital organizing tools, including peer-to-peer texting platforms and CRM systems, with a willingness to experiment with new technologies.

  • A problem-solving mindset, capable of adapting to fast-paced campaign environments and addressing challenges with creativity and initiative.

  • A passion for grassroots movements, independent politics, and democracy reform, with a commitment to civic engagement and empowering people-powered campaigns.

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience organizing in a distributed or remote-first campaign environment.

  • Familiarity with AI tools, CRM systems, and modern political tech (e.g., Scale to Win, Ecanvasser, Hubspot, ChatGPT).

  • A background in community management, volunteer training, or field strategy.
