Qualifications
MUST have 5 + years’ experience in property subrogation insurance claims handling.
Must have complete knowledge of fair claims practices.
Must be able to determine negligence and understand all state and local negligence laws.
Strong knowledge of subrogation processes, insurance policies, and claim procedures.
Background in construction defect and product liability subrogation preferred.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
This Property Subrogation Recovery Representative position is responsible for supporting the Subrogation recovery efforts on property subrogation claims.
Skill set needed includes, but is not limited to, the identification of potential subrogation targets, investigation, legal jurisdiction analysis, contract language analysis, and settlement negotiation of the assigned file or timely closure of pursuit without recovery as approved.
Investigate and analyze claims for subrogation potential, identifying responsible third parties.
Maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state-specific regulations
Coordinate all aspects of Subrogation cases, including expert retention, evidence gathering, reviewing, and analyzing accident, police reports and contracts and negotiating settlements. Also filing intercompany arbitration when necessary
Collaborate with our clients directly providing subrogation status updates and presenting investigation analysis.
Work with insurance agents to negotiate settlements.
Manages claim recoveries, including but not limited to subrogation; secures recovery from responsible parties; enters recovery fees into claims management system.
Initiate and manage subrogation recovery efforts, including sending demand letters and negotiating settlements.
Collaborate with legal counsel on complex cases requiring litigation.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of subrogation efforts in the claims management system.
Provides subrogation guidance and direction to both internal and external stakeholders to maximize recovery efforts in alignment with client, financial and jurisdictional strategy, and guidelines.
Develops and pursues third party subrogation, refers assignments to subrogation counsel as dictated by statute or timeline, and discusses any compromised or negotiation of the claimed subrogation interest.
Uses appropriate cost containment techniques, including strategic vendor partnerships, to reduce overall cost of claims for our clients.
Ability to negotiate within parameters of client authorization, and file arbitration or refer matters to subrogation counsel when necessary. All negotiations and settlements are performed within client authorizations.

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is ($55,000 - $75,000 USD annually).
