Overview:
Nationwide Search – Selected candidate can be located anywhere in the United States.
The Medical Technologist consultant conducts thorough evaluations and helps to provide solutions for laboratory programs across the United States. Applies systems analysis skills and inductive reasons skills to determine laboratory's degree of compliance with applicable standards based issues in health care in order to assess compliance and to identify opportunities for improving compliance. Prepares management reports that clearly link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points. Effectively communicates this information in a constructive and collegial style. Participates in other Joint Commission Resources activities as assigned by supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Provides exceptional on- and off-site consultation and education to domestic health care organizations or other clients, emphasizing practical approaches in the application of The Joint Commission standards as well as technical assistance in general health care quality and patient safety improvement.
Consistently prepares well-articulated and focused written consultation reports aimed toward senior health care executives. Obtains feedback from Joint Commission Resources clients regarding the quality of services and deliverables and actively makes improvements therein.
Identifies the unique needs of client organizations and tailors consulting services/engagements (type, scope, etc.) accordingly. Responsible for new and current business development (to a defined expectation) inclusive of client relationship management, lead generation, assistance in proposal development, and sale of Joint Commission
Resources products and services. Maintains and grows client relationships through ongoing communications and a systematic process for client follow-up.
Promotes Joint Commission Resources products and services through public speaking engagements and representation at high profile national conferences/meetings/conventions and/or at Joint Commission Resources and/or sponsored seminars and conferences as requested.
Actively participates in professional development activities, such as training, webinars, audio conferences, and other relevant education programs to stay abreast of current The Joint Commission policies, products, services, standards, and survey processes.
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of one’s work. Models a spirit of quality and collaboration across Joint Commission Resources services and with all colleagues.
Qualifications:Medical Technologist with a Masters degree in a health-related field.
Registered with na ationally accredited organization.
Certification requirement: You must hold a CPHQ certification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) through National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) at time of hire or attain within one year of hire.
Candidates must have experience in three or more technical areas.
Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory accreditation is essential.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills, have experience working in a large point of care setting and have experience in leading or participating in regulatory and safety committees.
Experience in sales or teaching experience is highly desirable.
Physical Abilities:
Must be able travel 100% of work time. Must be able to work one week every other month as a .14 fte.
