Job Summary:

 

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Technical Data Analyst with a focus on Process Improvement, and Quality Control for a Federal client in the Washington DC area. Join our team and utilize both legacy and modern, open-source technologies to develop, deliver and support applications for our clients while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the validation of financial models and ensuring the integrity of reports and analyses, the verification and validation of models, charts, numerical data, and documentation.  This role requires a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills and a background in financial data analysis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing data quality and driving process improvements that contribute to the overall stability of financial markets.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·        Collaborate with Client teams to verify and validate models, charts, and documentation.

·        Conduct quality control checks on financial models and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.

·        Confirm data load, data range, content range, accuracy, and quality.

·        Review query logic, validate subset matches expectations, and assess code accuracy

·        Verify dataset-to-chart linkage, validate series data range, confirm time horizon, and ensure proper units.

·        Ensure charts and graphical representations align with analytical expectations and provide feedback

·        Review and validate calculations, projections, and methodologies used in models and charts.

·        Assess and validate code used for data extraction and preparation.

·        Conduct in-depth reviews using SQL, Python, SAS, R, Stata, and other statistical software.

·        Ensure systems adhere to security control requirements in alignment with organizational, agency, and Government-wide standards and guidance.

·        Validate source-to-target mapping and perform comprehensive data quality assessments.

·        Prepare post-validation task certification reports detailing scope, methodology, and findings, maintaining appropriate archives.

·        Review and validate data queries and the coding used in data preparation and extraction.

·        Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to bridge the gap between research and data analysis.

·        Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate it into the development of financial monitoring products.

·        Participate in weekly progress meetings to discuss project status, deliverables, and risks.



Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

 

·        3+ years of experience in data analysis, model validation, or a related analytical role.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst, preferably within a federal government or financial organization.

·        Experience with financial modeling, economic analysis, and market monitoring.

·        Strong knowledge of data governance, security controls, and compliance frameworks.

·        Ability to interpret and validate complex financial and economic datasets.

·        Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·        Excellent communication skills to present findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·        Strong understanding of financial data standards and experience handling market-sensitive data.

·        Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, R, and Stata.

·        Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

·        Experience presenting data insights visually to diverse audiences.

 

Minimum Education:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or another related field.
