Role Overview:

As a Senior Product Designer I, you take a leadership role in shaping intuitive, high-quality user experiences with a focus on financial or payroll-related applications that align with business goals and customer needs. You advocate for design excellence across all platforms and collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to drive the evolution of our design system and user interfaces. You are a problem solver who translates complex challenges into simple, elegant solutions that enhance our Pros' workflows. You balance strategy and execution, ensuring that our products remain consistent, scalable, and visually compelling.

Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard-working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.

What you do each day:

  • Advocate for customer-centric design while balancing business goals and technical feasibility
  • Conduct competitor analysis, discovery research, and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs to guide product development
  • Establish and refine design principles, patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and product managers to integrate design seamlessly into the development process
  • Lead design critiques, share best practices, and mentor junior designers to elevate team capabilities
  • Present concepts and design rationales to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance our design approach

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in product design, preferably within SaaS or SMB-focused software
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI/UX design, design systems, and interaction design
  • Deep understanding of responsive design and technical constraints across web, iOS, and Android
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and how to implement them effectively
  • Portfolio showcasing your contributions to digital products and user-centric design, particularly in areas related to FinTech or payroll systems.

What will help you succeed:

  • Strong visual design skills that merge functionality with aesthetic appeal
  • Systems-thinking mindset to create scalable and maintainable design solutions
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship in both design execution and developer handoff
  • Ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels
