What You Will Do 

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Solutions Architect to join our team at Altera. As a key member of our robotics engineering team, you will be responsible for adapting Altera products for deployment into industrial automation platforms. The goal is to showcase the viability of Altera solutions - semiconductors, software, IP and tools - for current and emerging applications in the Industrial applications segment. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand the Robotics market, players and ecosystem to track key applications for FPGA-based deployment. 

  • Own the Robotics system architecture space and serve as subject matter expert on robotics control systems  

  • Understand the Altera product portfolio and own the mapping of products to application space 

  • Work with internal teams and 3rd party FPGA-design partners to specify and oversee development of internal reference designs for mapped products 

  • Engage customers with reference designs to capture solution requirements and feed back into internal organizations 

  • Serve as the main point of technical contact between the business unit and the customer to prosecute Design Wins  

Salary Range 

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications:

What We Want to See

 

Your pedigree would typically be a background in EE or CS (or related fields) with 10+ years of total experience and experience in one or more of the following:  

  • Systems engineering experience at a Robotics provider or application developer, preferably working on FPGA platforms. 

  • You would ideally be an expert in Robotics systems design and/or machine vision  from an electronic systems and platform perspective. 

  • You possess a keen understanding of the workloads, algorithms and applications that these systems are designed to host. 

  • You have that "feel" for what fits within a given compute platform from a capacity, performance, power, IO or cost perspective.  

  • You have delivered multiple systems engineering specifications for control platforms for multi-axis robot arms, AMR drive systems or Sensor fusion platforms for limited ODD deployments. 

  • A recent addition to your resume would be knowledge or skills related to AI inferencing applications of interest to industrial manufacturing, AMR or similar application segment. 

 

Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd (preferred qualifications) 

  • Experience with ROS, openCV, machine vision algorithms 

  • Recognition within the robotics community – technical or business 

  • Experience dealing to Customers
