Job description

What this Job Entails: 

Astreya is seeking a skilled and experienced MDM Mobility Engineer to join our remote support center in Manila, Philippines. This role will support a global organization in managing and securing corporate iPhones and iPads within a highly regulated financial services environment. The position focuses on mobile device management (MDM) using Jamf and Microsoft Intune, ensuring robust device security, policy compliance, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate with global teams to support a methodical transition from Intune to Jamf, manage device policies, test iOS updates, and provide advanced troubleshooting and user education.

Key Responsibilities:

Mobile Device Management:

  • Configure and maintain MDM solutions, with a primary focus on Jamf and Intune.

  • Tailor out-of-the-box configuration solution for seamless onboarding and offboarding of users and devices fitting various user personas and business needs

  • Implement and enforce security policies to prevent unapproved communication methods, apps, and configurations.

  • Use resulting data to continually refine and optimize both user experience & security

Device Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure all mobile devices comply with organizational and regulatory security standards.

  • Coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams for secure digital backups of returned devices as required.

iOS Update Management:

  • Test and validate iOS updates prior to deployment to ensure compatibility with in-office networks, virtual desktop applications (e.g., VMware Horizon), and other critical systems.

  • Work with engineering teams to address ancillary hardware and software compatibility, such as connecting iPads to external monitors, peripheral devices and business applications.

Device Transition & Optimization:

  • Support the transition from Intune to Jamf, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal implementation.

  • Develop and document best practices for iPad usage, including virtual desktop connections.

Technical Support:

  • Provide tier-2/3 support for mobile devices, including troubleshooting bugs, configuration enhancements, exceptions and user training.

  • Act as the escalation point for unresolved mobile device issues.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with global teams for hardware purchasing and distribution.

  • Engage with global teams to optimize workflows related to mobile device usage and support.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing MDM solutions, with strong expertise in Jamf and Microsoft Intune.

  • Proven experience in a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of compliance and security requirements.

  • Expertise with iOS devices, VMware Horizon, and hardware compatibility testing.

  • Deep knowledge of mobile device security protocols, policy deployment, and configuration management.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting iOS devices and providing advanced technical support.

  • Experience with iOS update testing and deployment.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and user education abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Jamf 200 or higher, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar.

  • Experience managing transitions between MDM platforms.

  • Familiarity with regulated financial services environments.

Work Environment:

This role is based in Manila, Philippines, as part of a remote support center, providing services to a global organization. The role may require occasional collaboration across time zones and alignment with global operations.

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing

  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment

  • Must be able to use a computer

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
