Tasks and responsibilities:
Examples of potential technical tasks include:
● Prototype, implement, and reskin minigame mechanics.
● Create 3D gameplay systems with some amount of 2D UI programming using uGUI.
● Develop Unity editor tools to automate repetitive tasks.
● See how kids react to your work, understanding their delights and struggles to understand what is good and what needs to be improved.
● Implement audio.
● Build features on top of an established architecture.
● Polish and iterate existing features taking them to a quality that is ready to go live.
● Break down complex tasks into small solvable problems.

Examples of potential interpersonal tasks include:
● Gather requirements.
● Ask for clarifications.
● Confirm alignment on what was understood of the task.
● Negotiate specs.
● Discuss pros and cons of different implementations.

Requirements:
● Senior Unity Gameplay Engineer – 8+ years of experience.
● This role has a strong emphasis on programmatic motion and game feel, the engineer needs to care deeply about reaching the “just right” look and feel for minigame mechanics for young kids.
● Deeply familiar with C#, Unity, and 2D-like animation; not dependent on Unity to do it all.
● Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
● Strong understanding of the fundamentals of physics and 3D math.
● Strong understanding of the principles of animation.
● Experienced in implementing 3D gameplay systems.
● Experienced in mobile games (iOS/Android)
● Experienced in working with other disciplines (product, design, art, QA)
● Able to make a small interaction feel great while keeping the code simple and understandable.
● Able to implement Unity editor tools for task automation.
● Able to design technical architectures selecting the appropriate data structures and algorithms.
● Able to build features on top of an already-established architecture.
● Able to iterate and polish existing features to a “ready to launch” level.
● High sense of ownership, able to own solutions to technical challenges from discussion to implementation.
● Proactive and clear communicator, who can interact with senior stakeholders to understand their requirements.

Nice to have:
● Experience as indie developer or game jam developer.
● Experience releasing games on PC/Mac.
● Knowledge of URP Shader.
● Experience implementing game audio.
● Experience implementing gamepad controls.
