540 is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect where we partner with Google to help the DoD build new capabilities for an Air Force integration platform powered by Apigee, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud. In this role, you will be active in the overall project success as it relates to technical delivery and architecture.
Location: Remote within the continental United States. Individuals must be willing to work East Coast working hours with some flexibility afforded. Possible travel required up to 25%.
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field (preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years experience in a technical leadership role
- Extensive experience in the following areas:
- Building enterprise software application architectures using AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Kubernetes
- Microservices using CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrable ability to handle the following tasks:
- Plan and support design, implementation, and troubleshooting of cloud systems and environments, including long-term technical planning.
- Support cloud systems and application development teams with daily tasks
- Take responsibility for decisions on cloud architecture, networking, software implementations, and technical architecture.
- Plan and support deployment and configuration of multiple applications by designing and supporting development of automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Write technical documentation regarding system architecture, configuration, and design decisions
- Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop and execute requirements
- Currently possess a Professional level cloud architecture certification, preferably GCP Professional Cloud Architect
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences through remote communication tools
- Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience with the following technologies or areas of expertise:
- Keycloak
- Vertex AI
- Database development
- DevSecOps best practices
- Linux skills (especially with RHEL)
- API Gateways and API Management platforms such as Google Apigee
- Working in an Agile software development environment
- Strong personal programming skills in a strongly-typed language like Java/Kotlin/C/etc
- Experience working on US Federal Government projects, specifically with the Department of Defense
