The Executive Medical Director of Population Health is a senior leadership position with both clinical and administrative functions.
The clinical senior leadership function is within a multidisciplinary mental health team, responsible for overseeing the clinical management and delivery of psychiatric care to our population with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), substance use disorders (SUD), and dementia. This role involves providing direct psychiatric care, leading a team of clinicians (including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals), and ensuring that high-quality, patient-centered care is delivered within a collaborative, evidence-based framework. The Executive Medical Director is instrumental in coordinating care, optimizing team performance, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the mental health services program. The effort allocated to this clinical function is 0.6 FTE for both direct clinical care and supervisory responsibilities with the ratio between these changing based on the number of psychiatric nurse practitioners being supervised.
The administrative function of Population Health entails overseeing and advancing the population health strategy within the organization. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic oversight to improve the health outcomes of our patient population with SMI, SUD and dementia, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of care. The Executive Medical Director will work closely with the Population Health team, healthcare providers, administrators, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate population health initiatives. This leader will leverage data-driven insights, clinical expertise, and strategic leadership to shape and guide the delivery of care across multiple settings. In this role, The Executive Medical Director will also partner and support the Compliance and Risk Management team as the clinical expert. This individual will also serve as a key liaison between clinical and executive leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The effort allocated to this administrative function is 0.4 FTE.
