The Director - Vocational Services maintains oversight of vocational rehabilitation and career and employment services across the country. We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Vocational Services Director with a focus on operations, driving efficiency, and executing performance strategies. The ideal candidate will excel at implementing strategies, fostering growth, ensuring continuous improvement, and managing onboarding processes to drive the performance and execution of our vocational services across Canada.


Sharing your relevant vocational expertise, you will report directly to the National Director, Vocational Services and work closely with Lifemark’s national vocational leadership team and Lifemark's regional leadership teams to ensure growth of Vocational Services within Lifemark. This will be accomplished by driving the expansion of our services, focusing on client and program outcome efficiency, implementing best and promising practices, ensuring effective onboarding and training for staff and through the reinforcement of accountability of our professional staff. You will offer guidance and support, as well as positive leadership to our provincial leaders, regional directors, and clinic directors along with our national vocational services team of staff.  


Key responsibilities:

1. Operational Execution:

  • Execute strategic plans developed by senior leadership to optimize clinic operations.
  • Implement efficient workflows and processes to enhance productivity and operational excellence.
    • Ensure compliance with professional regulations and organizational standards.
  • Effectively manage and solution file escalations and customer/client concerns

2. Performance and Growth:

  • Drive growth initiatives and expansion of vocational, career and employment services across the organization.
  • Develop, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and execute plans to enhance service delivery, client outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Network to promoteLifemark vocational services internally and externally
  • Participate in RFPs and funder presentations to determine the role/impact for vocational services in future contracts and renewals

 

3. Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and enhance service quality.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence, encouraging staff to contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and track the impact of improvement efforts.
    • Provide input on professional staff optimisation for better overall team efficiency.

 

4. Onboarding and Training:

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new vocational services professionals and support staff, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities to support staff growth and retention.

 

5. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of vocational services professional staff and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.
    • Facilitate the delivery of a collaborative team approach and a client centered approach to care.
  • Provide dedicated recruitment and retention support to attract and keep top talent.
    • Work collaboratively with the Lifemark leadership teams to support national strategic planning and growth initiatives.

 

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Management experience at a Senior Manager level is a requirement
    • 5+ years experience as a vocational rehabilitation or career and employment professional
  • Registration (member in good standing) with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals preferred
  • Past experience managing operations across multiple locations and multi-site teams
  • Experience with data analytics and project management 
  • Business Development experience is a very strong asset
    • Degree (undergraduate or Masters level) in business administration is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others 
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional development 
  • Experience treating clients in a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation setting 
  • Prior experience with Workers' Compensation Boards, Insurers ( life and auto), Government (vocational rehabilitation or employment services), and/or Employers is an asset
  • Outstanding communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
