Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Basketball Program and Curriculum Coordinator with a strong background in basketball coaching and program development.
The primary responsibility will be to create tailored basketball training session plans for various age groups and skill levels, ranging from beginner to advanced players. You will also develop in-depth coach training materials, including video tutorials and online induction courses, to help our on-ground coaching staff deliver these sessions effectively.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for basketball, a deep understanding of coaching methodologies, and the ability to create comprehensive, engaging training programs for both fun and competitive environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop structured basketball programs for players of various levels aged 7-17, segmented by skill level (beginner to advanced) and program type (fun-based school programs and competitive programs).
Ensure each program is age-appropriate and focuses on key outcomes, such as improving technical skills, increasing player engagement, and fostering teamwork.
Research and document appropriate drills and training exercises that align with the basketball development pathways.
Maintain a repository of training materials and ensure that all content is accessible and regularly updated.
Develop detailed training materials for our coaching staff, such as video tutorials and online induction courses, to support staff in delivering programs effectively.
Design an internal induction exam that coaches must pass before delivering training programs.
Collaborate with the team to ensure all materials align with our companys coaching philosophy and expectations.
Work closely with the head coach and coaching staff to ensure alignment on key concepts, drills, and overall program goals.
Communicate daily with program coordinators and other team members to ensure the training programs meet our goals.
Incorporate feedback and make adjustments to programs and materials as needed.
Provide recommendations for tools or platforms to enhance the development and delivery of training materials, as well as the organization of basketball training programs (e.g., tools for creating and documenting drills, session plans, and play diagrams, as well as project management tools and learning platforms for structuring content).
Qualifications:
Required:
Basketball Coaching Experience: Minimum of 3 years of basketball coaching experience, across a variety of skill levels, with a strong understanding of developing training programs for various skill levels and age groups (7-17).
Training Program Development: Proven experience creating structured training plans and educational materials tailored for multiple age groups and skill levels, across both fun-based and competitive environments.
Resourceful and Adaptable: Capable of researching and adjusting drills and programs to align with specific goals.
Tech-Savvy: Ability to suggest tools and platforms for content creation and training material delivery.
Self-motivated and Proactive: Ability to work independently while collaborating remotely with the internal team via Microsoft Teams and email.
Excellent Communication: Fluent in English (both written and verbal) to create clear training materials and collaborate effectively.
Team-oriented with flexibility: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with diverse coaching styles and integrate feedback to ensure program alignment.
Preferred:
Experience Training Basketball Coaches: Proven ability to train and mentor basketball coaches to effectively deliver training sessions across multiple age groups and skill levels, from fun-based to competitive training.
Online course and assessment development: Experience in creating online courses and designing induction exams to assess coaching competencies.
