Job description

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant on behalf of a Sydney-based client who provides professional business services, supporting clients in achieving business growth through expert financial and strategic advisory. This role involves preparing financial statements and tax returns, assisting with business advisory services, and collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Services

  • Prepare financial statements, tax returns, management accounts, budgets, and cashflow forecasts.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of work, minimizing rework.
  • Apply technical training knowledge to improve client outcomes and handle increasingly complex tasks.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services to support client success.

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Work closely with onshore and offshore team members to ensure high-quality output.
  • Provide feedback, support, and on-the-job training for offshore team members.
  • Act as a buddy to new team members, aiding their onboarding and professional growth.

Firm Support & Development

  • Meet individual productivity and recoverability targets.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and support weekly billings.
  • Continuously develop technical and professional skills by taking on challenging tasks.
  • Participate in training, development activities, and team meetings.
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of firm systems and procedures.
Requirements: 
  • Degree qualified (or currently studying) in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • CA or CPA program underway or planned.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Australian professional practice.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting and tax.
  • Experience with Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
