About the Role:

The Operations team is responsible for the management, maintenance, and T3+ support for Production SaaS Infrastructure.

As it’s Team Lead, you will work closely with the VP Cloud Engineering and Engineering Leads to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our production environments, including overseeing the operation and management of FEDRAMP compliant platforms. You will coordinate and oversee the resolution of high-priority incidents, manage operational workflows, develop strategies for ongoing maintenance and support, and ensure federal cloud security standards and compliance requirements are met.

You should be experienced in production environment management, incident response, and operational best practices. Additionally, you must be adept at managing technical projects and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a globally distributed team, capable of adhering to industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices
  • Identify knowledge and performance gaps across the team and work to address these, developing initiatives and highlighting relevant training opportunities
  • Support and mentor more junior engineers in their professional development
  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of Production
  • Infrastructure to ensure stability and reliability
  • Develop, refine, and implement operational strategies and processes in collaboration with the VP Cloud Engineering and other leaders
  • Participate in Quarterly Planning, representing the operations team to provide feedback to the wider engineering group
  • Co-ordinate and participate in an on-call rotation to allow effective 24/7 support of production infrastructure
  • Ensure timely and effective incident response and resolution, particularly for T3+ support issues
  • Oversee the operation and management of FEDRAMP platforms, ensuring compliance with federal security standards
  • Collaborate with compliance and security teams to meet all FEDRAMP requirements
  • Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems, develop and maintain documentation, and provide training on FEDRAMP best practices

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

    • Proven experience in IT operations, maintenance, and support
    • Experience working with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
    • Experience working on SaaS deployments
    • Experience working with eventing and queuing systems, such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
    • Experience working with an Observability platform such as Datadog or New Relic
    • Experience in project management, including managing budgets and resource allocation
    • Experience working with compliance programs such as NIST, SOC2, and FEDRAMP
    • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data in accordance with established security policies
    • Report any suspected security incidents or breaches to the security team immediately.
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with compliance, security, and audit teams, and other cross-functional teams
    • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively
    • Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory data privacy requirements in all aspects of work.
