We are hiring! Our Sales team at Ingersoll Rand's Precision Technologies division is growing. We're hiring an OEM Business Development Manager to support our Ingersoll Rand, MP and Oberdorfer Pumps brands.

 

LOCATION: Remote, Germany 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The OEM Business Development Manager is an individual contributor within the Sales function for the Europe region (including the UK). The position will be responsible for promoting and selling gear and centrifugal pumps as OEM components to manufacturers across diverse segments (including but not limited to chemical and petrochemical transfer, transportation, energy, medical, construction and mining equipment, etc.). The OEM Sales Engineer develops new business opportunities by leveraging traditional and contemporary prospecting methods and wins new business by successfully applying solution-based selling best practices and leveraging our internal support teams.

 

The successful candidate is a collaborative, self-motivated and assertive team member, acting as trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to build business in new and existing markets.

 

 KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Significantly grows territory by acquiring new customers and expanding share of wallet in existing accounts.
  • Develops and executes business plans to achieve sales goals by partnering with internal teams.
  • Actively develops and pursues OEM prospects and leads in the development of new business opportunities.
  • Leads pricing negotiations, technical specifications, formal quotation creation and presentation, and toll-gate sales process.
  • Maintains CRM software updated to track the status of inquiries, quotes, bids, customer correspondence, customer contacts, and pipeline of sales opportunities.
  • Engages (in-person and virtually) existing and potential customers, presents product information, quotations, and proposals during various stages of the sales process.
  • Provides territory feedback to Manager regarding current and potential customer needs, competitive offerings, pricing strategy, and initiatives to drive profitable growth in the assigned territory.
  • Qualifies leads and conducts Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs and QBRs, respectively).
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related degree and at least 5 years of OEM sales experience, preferably traveling extensively in the assigned territory.
  • Previous experience inclusive of prospecting, securing, and managing OEM accounts with annual sales over $100,000 USD.
  • Previous experience in technical sales and solution sales with pump technologies strongly preferred. Other OEM equipment sales experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office, CRM (Salesforce.com or alike) and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar) required.
  • Must demonstrate high energy level and commitment to setting and achieving goals.
  • Bilingual or multilingual in English and one of the following languages preferred: German, French, Italian, Spanish

 

TRAVEL AND WORK ARRANGEMENT:

  • The role will be a remote position located anywhere in Europe, with up to 75% travel based on customer and business needs.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES AND FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

  • Product Knowledge: Possess and/or acquire gear and centrifugal pump technology knowledge.
  • Technical Sales: Uses technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, recommending solutions that meet customer needs, and advance the sales process.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Effective communication with various stakeholders on a technical level, including Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Project Team, and top management. Must be skilled at working closely with customers in their development/validation processes and guide pump specification and selection process favorably on a technical and commercial level
