Job description

Description
The IT Engineer role is responsible for working with global Virtuozzo team members,
physical infrastructure and SaaS systems to ensure the 24/7 availability of servers,
services, and systems.
You will join an existing team, adding additional capacity to help us continue to fulfil the
needs of our growing worldwide organization.

 

Main responsibilities:
• Provide staff support through IT helpdesk for day-to-day IT matters
• Manage access to SaaS Systems, including regular reconciliation
• Set up email accounts, groups and calendars (Microsoft365, AD)
• Install, configure, and upgrade software for self-hosted systems
• Server maintenance and upgrades
• Monitor servers and services, resolve or escalate incidents
• Troubleshoot outages, creating RFO (Reason of outage) documents if required
• Handle IT matters as needed during staff onboarding/offboarding
• Work with the wider IT and Security team to build, document, and implement
internal processes and workflows
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization security hygiene
and policies
• Help with hardware service and maintenance
• Plan and deliver assets to employees

 

Prerequisite skills and experience
• 2 years of working experience with Linux and be comfortable administering RHEL/CentOS and Debian/Ubuntu systems
• An understanding of networking concepts, ideally with some hands-on experience
• A working knowledge of Windows and MacOS systems
• Good spoken and written English language skills
• Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and Active Directory administration
• Understanding and maintenance of IT hardware

 

The following would be an advantage:

  • Experience working in an IT helpdesk/customer support environment
  • Previous exposure to Virtualization platforms
  • Working experience with Apache, Nginx, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Zabbix, Puppet,
    Ansible, Docker, k8s would be great too, otherwise a keen willingness to expand
    your skills in these directions.
