About the Role


As a Trailblazer Sales Engineer, you will spearhead the go-to-market strategy for our newest software offerings. Your mission: work with our Chief Product Officer and Leaders to figure out the optimal sales engineer motions for a highly important new product. Do this by educating, inspiring, and securing early adopters who see the transformative potential of our solutions. Along the way, figuring out the optimal customer segments, messaging, pricing, product functionality, etc. You’ll operate at the intersection of sales, product development, and marketing, helping shape our product roadmap and messaging in uncharted territory.


What You’ll Do:

  • Pioneer New Markets: Identify, target, and engage potential customers in emerging markets or industries.
  • Educate and Inspire: Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand the value and potential ROI of our innovative solutions.
  • Develop a repeatable sales process that can be taught to others and scaled.
  • Build Relationships: Develop meaningful connections with key decision-makers, positioning yourself as a thought leader and the go-to expert for their needs.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, marketing, and engineering to provide feedback from the field and refine our offerings.
  • Develop Sales Strategies: Craft tailored approaches for each customer, blending creativity with data-driven insights to maximize impact.
  • Drive Adoption: Close deals with early adopters, demonstrating the ability to secure quick wins while building a foundation for long-term growth.
  • Measure Success: Track and report on key metrics, such as new accounts acquired, market penetration, and product adoption rates.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 5-10 years as a  Sales Engineer, preferably with experience selling innovative or emerging software products.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical training for clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop proposals, quotations, and contracts. 
  • Mindset: A fearless, entrepreneurial attitude with a knack for solving problems and overcoming obstacles.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional storytelling ability to communicate complex ideas in an inspiring and relatable way.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern CRM tools, social selling techniques, and digital outreach strategies.
  • Collaboration: A team player who thrives on cross-functional engagement and values feedback.
  • Passion for Innovation: Genuine enthusiasm for technology and its potential to transform businesses.

Note: this kind of selling is different from traditional selling where there is a well developed playbook. In this situation you will be helping to develop the playbook that others will eventually take and scale. The role is highly strategic and important to the company.
