Octopus by RTG is on a mission of connecting top notch ogranizations around the globe with top notch talents. We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Architect

The Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the development of secure IT and cloud environments in alignment with organizational security requirements and industry best practices. The role involves ensuring that cybersecurity principles are integrated into the architecture, conducting risk assessments, and advising on security measures to protect organizational assets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Security Design

  • Design and oversee the development of secure IT architectures and cloud environments.
  • Develop and implement secure cloud strategies in alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Define system security context, baseline requirements, and security controls for information systems and networks.
  • Ensure security architecture and cybersecurity frameworks comply with industry regulations and organizational policies.

2. Security Risk Assessment & Compliance

  • Conduct cybersecurity reviews, identify security gaps, and develop risk management strategies.
  • Analyze candidate architectures and select security mechanisms to mitigate risks.
  • Provide input to the risk management framework and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Advise on security requirements for procurement and third-party solutions.

3. Secure Configuration & Implementation

  • Employ secure configuration management processes to safeguard IT systems.
  • Define disaster recovery and business continuity security requirements.
  • Implement security controls for cloud services, networks, and IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents within IT and cloud environments.

4. Technical Advisory & Collaboration

  • Work within cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions into enterprise systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support agile teams with prototyping, feasibility studies, and security evaluations.
  • Translate proposed capabilities into technical security requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of network security, architecture, and secure system design.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles, secure coding, and encryption methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SAMA CSF, SABSA, TOGAF).

Skills

  • Skill in applying security architecture concepts, frameworks, and risk assessments.
  • Skill in implementing and managing security solutions for cloud environments.
  • Skill in performing packet-level analysis and forensic investigations.
  • Skill in cybersecurity automation, logging, and threat intelligence tools.

Abilities

  • Ability to apply network security architecture concepts and principles.
  • Ability to analyze security risks, assess compliance, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to configure and deploy cloud-based security controls.
  • Ability to design cybersecurity frameworks and ensure compliance with security policies.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CCSP, TOGAF, SABSA certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in security architecture, risk management, or cloud security.
