Job description

Role overview:

The Business Development (BD) Director will spearhead the search for new Regional and Local banks across the Eastern USA region. This role demands a purposeful individual with a target-driven approach, and a strong passion for achieving measurable outcomes.
The ideal candidate owns a hunter mindset, excelling at driving new business opportunities in the banking industry (regional & local banks) while fostering and supporting relations with existing clients. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding TerraPay’s footprint in the Eastern USA, contributing significantly to our global growth and market leadership.

How you will create impact:

1. Expand TerraPay's Global Footprint:

  • Find and set up partnerships with local and regional banks across the Eastern USA.
  • Build lasting relationships with community banks and credit unions to enhance TerraPay’s reach.
  • Develop a pipeline of Regional and Local banks in the Eastern USA to position it as a major Send Region.

2. Drive Product Excellence:

  • Customize TerraPay’s offerings to meet the needs of local and regional banking clients.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure compliance with USA banking regulations and standards.
  • Provide insights into market trends to influence product enhancements.

3. Refine FX Operations

  • Develop strategies to streamline cross border money movement for regional/ local banks.

4. Banking Partner Management and Performance

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of banking partnerships.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives with key banking partners.
  • Align collaboration with TerraPay’s global receive markets to achieve growth targets in Eastern USA.

5. Customer-Centric Approach

  • Build a deep understanding of the cross-border money movement preferences of banking customers.
  • Incorporate customer feedback to refine TerraPay’s service offerings.

Requirements

Essential qualifications:

1. Experience:

  • 15+ years in Banking industry, with a focus on partnerships with Regional and local banks.
  • Direct experience in B2B sales within the banking industry.

2. Skills and Attributes:

  • CRM Savvy: Ability in using CRM tools to manage pipelines and client interactions.
  • Target-Driven: A history of exceeding sales and business development targets.
  • Adaptability: An initiative-taking individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong Relationship Builder: Proven ability to set up and support strong relationships with banking institutions.

3. Market Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of the USA Banking System for cross border money movement, including regulatory frameworks such as AML and FinCEN.

4. Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English because communication is key.
