Job Overview

Join our dynamic team at Compass Health Network as a Medical Assistant/Nurse LPN, where your contributions will be vital in delivering compassionate care to the communities we serve. In recognition of the critical service needs, we offer a \(3000 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants and an additional \)3000 for Nurses. Your role will involve working within a person-centered integrated care team, maintaining professional relationships with patients, their representatives, and medical staff while ensuring adherence to clinic policies and patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Escort patients from the waiting room and complete vital intake procedures, including medication reconciliation and medical history documentation in the EMR.
  • Provide end-of-visit materials to patients, including lab results, referrals, and educational resources.
  • Conduct lab testing as per clinician orders; this may include immunizations, venipunctures, EKGs, and assisting in examinations and procedures.
  • Review patient-related messages with clinicians and return calls to patients and pharmacies as directed.
  • Support assigned clinicians with case management, including lab results and medication refills.
  • Administer injections and maintain VFC log sheets as directed.
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather necessary data during appointments.
  • Carry out other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Comprehend NCQA Patient Center Medical Home Standards and prepare patient information for the Care Team during morning meetings.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred, although new graduates will receive training.
  • A Practical Nursing certificate is mandatory for Nurse LPN applicants.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or LPN/GPN eligible candidates must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
  • CPR certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
