You will manage the security, reliability, and efficiency of our production systems. The team maintains service up-time in 24 x 7 environments, meet client expectations of accessible data services, and analyze the data to support Tier1 client support tickets when requested. The Lead SRE, SaaS Operations will enhance monitors, troubleshoot Windows and Linux applications, create AWS, GCP and OCI infrastructure, write tools & automation, and affect the design of the future platform architecture. Additionally, the Lead SRE, SaaS Operations develops support plans for all applications and follows those plans to provide the necessary level of production SLAs and SLOs.

The Avalara product suite is a mix of Windows/SQL environments with several additional open-source applications present in a Linux environment. You will support multiple projects and requires interactions and partnerships with teams and personnel from multiple business locations, skills, and backgrounds.

You will report to the Manager of the Engineering team.

This position is remote; however, we only accept candidates residing in Brazil.

Quais serão as suas responsabilidades

• Recommend application changes to improve application performance;
• Work with Development to transition applications from one platform to another when called for by the business and priorities related to the application monitoring to improve visibility for the teams;
• Provide technical escalation and share in the on-call 24/7 rotation;
• Work as a team-player for the project at hand;
• Review existing processes and recommend changes or institute new processes, including monitoring, upgrades, and tuning;
• Create high-quality project documentation, such as architecture designs, implementation plans, design documents, test plans.
  
  
  

O que precisa possuir para ser bem sucedido

• At least 8+ years of experience in a SAAS operating environment;
• At least 3+ years of working as a Lead SRE;
• Advanced/fluent english;
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent;
• Deep expertise in observability and tools needed to deliver five nines' SLAs and guide SLOs;
• Cloud Services experience with AWS, GCP and OCI;
• Knowledge of Windows or Linux and it's underlying components, system statistics, performance tuning, file systems, and io;
• Experience working with containers-based technologies;
• Experience with either .NET or Linux in AWS;
• Solid scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, GitLab and a history of automating workloads;
• Experienced in troubleshooting applications running on a Windows .NET using IIS or experienced in the LAMP and Java. You need to have experience in one;
• Experience with production deployment, monitoring, and operational support for enterprise-class applications;
• Experience in performance diagnostics, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, performance monitoring;
• Experience working with load-balanced high-traffic solutions/services;
• Experience in SQL and database services;
