Job description

The Senior International HR Consultant will be required to provide consultancy services to IRIS HR Consulting’s clients in the areas of international compensation and benefits and data protection. Such consultancy support will primarily be delivered via email, video and telephone, although there may be occasional requirements to travel to client sites.


The position will be primarily home-based, although the role will require at least monthly in-person meetings with team members and reports, who are also home-workers. The team are currently located in South England and Scotland, the role will require regular individual and team working sessions, either in person to support client discussions or via web-based video meetings. You will be required to have a suitable space at home to have professional conversations with clients without interruption.

The Individual will have excellent communications skills, being able to communicate over video calls, email and in person (when required), as part of the role, building relationships with the team and clients will be essential.

A key quality is building client confidence, from there increasing client value. The role requires expertise and ability to work on tight deadlines. As the role is international in nature, the individual should be open to working with people from all around the world and learning about different regions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Being the expert contact for your clients, helping them with all areas of employee reward from employee benefits to compensation strategies. Helping your clients engage their employees and encouraging growth
  • The provision of advice and support to clients in relation to international employee benefits. Support from in-country brokers, insurers and consultants may be called upon where necessary
  • Provide clear advice and guidance to clients on statutory obligations in all jurisdictions
  • Provide clear advice and guidance to clients on supplemental employee benefits and rewards
  • Provide full implementation with employee benefit suites as required
  • Assist clients with developing their international benefits strategy, identifying growth opportunities that bring real value to your clients and IRIS
  • Preparation of employee benefit handbooks, including “at a glance” documents for employee onboarding
  • Review and compile benchmark reports using industry data in relation to compensation packages and employee benefits
  • Develop and maintain key client and third-party relationships
  • Provide ad hoc advice for one-off queries relating to employee benefits and reward policies
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients regarding company cars, allowances and associated elements in-country
  • Work with the HR Consulting team in drafting employment contracts in the context of employee benefit provision
  • Work with the HR Consulting team on global mobility projects – providing support with benchmarking data, COLA reporting, advice on expat insurances versus local insurance provision


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Foreign language skills are desirable but not essential.
  • HR or People related experience is essential.


Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong International C&B experience, with a particular focus on employee benefit schemes.
  • Previous experience as a fee-earning HR consultant ideal; alternatively, experience within an internal HR department with a client-centric outlook to servicing internal stakeholders would be especially desirable
  • Prior experience of working with and knowledge of CRM systems such as Workday is desirable
  • Compensation benchmarking experience is desirable
  • Any international working experience is desirable – this could be working in another country or even working with a business that is based outside of the United Kingdom.
  • The ability to speak/write in more than one language is desirable but not a requirement
