About The Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support solutions while customers continue to mature in their journey to the cloud and to fully SaaS-based solutions. Bring in your full stack of functional and technical expertise to make an impact on the Higher Education customer base and grow together. The Senior Consultant will serve in various capacities across all aspects of a project including specification design, coding and unit testing, implementation, and deployment of Banner/Colleague solutions which often requires considerable resources and high levels of complex functional and technical integration and knowledge. The expectations for candidates to fill this role include significant experience in the areas below.

Where you will make an impact

• Lead workstreams within an overall project transparently and productively, applying standard practices.
• Execute all aspects related to service delivery and deployment of our Custom Software Solution Development services through planned engagements with our higher education customers.
• Collaborate with consulting teams and peers to ensure customer and Ellucian project expectations are exceeded.
• Identify and remediate issues and project risks that impede enabling customer greatness.
• Drive innovative and transformative strategies which will ensure successful implementations.
• Continuously improve the customer experience by ensuring the development, use and maintenance of service artefacts that exceed customer expectations.
• Proactively prepare for and deliver high-quality implementation consulting services.
• Success will be measured by customer satisfaction, achievement of projects, and utilization targets.
• Consult with Ellucian Delivery Lead to drive performance improvement, own problems, and execute with precision.
• Work with the Ellucian Delivery Lead to receive project details and translate them to the local team for Tech. design, development, and QA activities.
• Be able to identify appropriate technologies for the solution given the constraints of the client or architecture.
• Work with a dynamic team of developers and other peers to build and test the application according to the prepared specifications
• Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for integrations
• Demonstrated aptitude for logical application of problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to deconstruct complex technical issues to identify root cause issues
• Stay current with Ellucian applications
• Have an aptitude to learn new / related technologies quickly and apply them on the projects you work on.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of eight years experience in Product/Consulting experience along with technical/programming experience in JavaScript, React, Node JS, Oracle SQL /PostgreSQL and Restful Web Services.
• Exhibits a strong sense of ownership for individual work assignments
• Enabling delivery readiness, problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with demonstrable presentation and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience working independently with little direction to achieve goals. Ability to work with a remote team leveraging available tools.
• Brings an established, effective method for tracking and completing tasks on time.
• Prefers a collaborative work environment over working solo, with a bias towards sharing credit for achievement over individual recognition.
  
  

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

• Experience working in the following areas is a plus:
• Tomcat, Linux, AWS
• Java technology stack (Groovy/Grails, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, React)
• Version Control expertise with GIT
• Experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c integration with middleware and web components.
