BUSINESS ANALYST

Location: Markham, ON desired, but will consider remote candidates in Canada.

THE POSITION

The successful Business Analyst will work with customers and multiple stakeholders to generate requirements, document functional specifications, and develop user stories to guide our project team in developing commercial-grade Homebuilder ERP software.

They will demonstrate the ability to differentiate requests from the underlying requirements to communicate the ideas for a modern and effective user experience. This position will allow a talented and enthusiastic candidate with experience in the homebuilding industry the opportunity to play an integral role in shaping the direction of existing and future Constellation HomeBuilder Systems products.

The Business Analyst’s responsibilities include utilizing their experience to:

• Research and facilitate decision-making in product strategies, in response to competitive dynamics and parallel products.

• Work closely with customers to understand their business, desires, and obstacles

• Develop user stories and features, to guide the development team on customer needs, and to provide guidance for an efficient user experience that customers want

• Act as a prime intermediary between the customer and developers, advocating for the product internally to turn product vision into reality. 

• Work collaboratively as part of the software development team: create everything from high-level workflows to functional specifications, reproduction steps, wireframes, report layouts, proof of concepts, and user interfaces

• Collaborate with all stakeholders and project team members to find ways to accelerate deliveries, with transparent tracking

• Deliver engaging product presentations that solicits feedback and generates buy-in

• Pro-actively support the long-term roadmap, involving R&D, sales, marketing, customer success, clients, and other groups.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Work experience in the homebuilding industry, ideally within Homebuilder scheduling, warranty, and purchasing.

• Ability to effectively communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale verbally and in written form

• Previous experience in brand-creation or creation of software specifications

• Rigorous attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize and manage work to project timelines in a fast-paced software development environment

• A self-starter who can work effectively both independently and in a team across geographies
