POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Strategic Pricing & Analytics is responsible for supporting the strategic objectives of the Health Plan Relations and Business Development teams. This position will create revenue forecasts for the development of de novo centers and acquisitions, analysis of price benchmarking and price transparency data, and modeling and forecasting impact of managed care contracts. The position will report to the Senior Director, Strategic Pricing and Analytics and work extensively with the Health Plan Relations and Business Development teams across all center types and geographies. This role may supervise Analyst resource(s).

Work Schedule: This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing the Director, Strategic Pricing and Analytics to be based anywhere in the country with up to 20% overnight travel anticipated, with the expectation that you will be invited to attend quarterly planning meetings and annual full team strategy meetings at our home office in Nashville.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Business Development team in estimating top-line forecasts for pro-forma development
  • Lead analysis of price benchmarking and price transparency data sets to support the development and execution of Business Development and Health Plan Relations strategic objectives
  • Lead analysis of current and proposed contracted rates to support business development efforts and payer negotiations, using a variety of business intelligence tools and platforms, inclusive of MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau reporting
  • Oversee team to execute custom analytics as requested by leadership to drive strategic decision making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve enterprise level strategic objectives
  • Oversee and monitor quality of output across team of analysts
  • Manage, support the development of analyst(s) as needed
  • Travel overnight and locally as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (HARD SKILLS):

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

  • Expertise in the healthcare industry working with managed care contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and pricing strategies
  • Track record of strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills required; strong Microsoft Office, Access, relational databases, and reporting tools a plus
  • Ability to build and audit complex Excel-based financial models, analyze data, and translate analyses into specific, targeted actions to drive results
  • Expertise in working with complex and large volumes of data
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement routine and custom reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with C-suite and executive leadership (i.e., packaging and presenting nuanced and detailed information, fielding and responding to questions across the organization, etc.)
  • Excellence in delivering projects on-time and with the desired results through a structured project management (e.g., time, team, work-stream management) approach
  • Willingness to assume responsibility for communication and execution of corporate initiatives
  • Experience managing one or more direct reports

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration
  • 5-7+ years of experience in health care or health plan analytics
  • Prior experience in contract modeling and analysis, financial reporting, or data analytics
  • Ambulatory surgery financial reporting, ASC / anesthesia services reimbursement, and ambulatory surgery managed care contracting are all required; ambulatory surgery center operations experience preferred
  • Experience leading a team of one or more analysts preferred
