Initiates contact with insurance payers, physicians, and patients/families to obtain precertification and authorizations for all inpatient and outpatient services. Pre-registers patients as needed by calling patient families or by using the department protocol. Ensure that all patient accounts flow through the billing cycle without errors caused by lack of authorization/precertification, insurance verification, incomplete or inaccurate demographic information or other registration-related errors which may cause the receivable to remain unpaid.

  • High school education required in order to effectively problem solve registration and general needs of patients and patient families.

  • Three years of registration, scheduling or administrative support experience in a healthcare setting or a business environment required.

  • One year experience as a Financial Verification Rep preferred.

  • Experience with insurance referral and authorization processing required in lieu of Verification Rep experience.

  • Epic experience preferred.

  • Ability to type 35 wpm preferred.

Fully remote position (first week will be on site in West Allis for orientation)
