Job description

For the further strategic development of our Marine and Power field service department, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer. As a Field Service Engineer, you are part of a dedicated Field Service team and contribute directly to the company's success. In this position, you will be part of a dynamic Field Service department that supports the MAN-ES product portfolio for marine and power installations for customers in the UK, Europe and globally and will typically work within a team to support our customers.

We can offer you the following tasks

To assist or be responsible for work tasks in accordance with assigned responsibilities;
Being able to carry out maintenance and repair of 4 and 2 stroke engines and associated systems.
Support the implementation of field maintenance procedures according to MAN-ES standards.
To be able to carry out performance tests, troubleshooting & root cause analysis.
To be able to work with engine automation & mechanical systems, providing support to Customers within guidelines as stipulated by MAN-ES.
Implementation of tasks as part of the maintenance of engines.
On site Customer operational support in all stages of a project.
Support the implementation of HSE standards in maintenance activities.
Identifying the spare parts requirements for maintenance of activities.

You Can Help Us With These Qualifications

Apprenticeship time served mechanical or mechatronic Engineer or comparable vocational education with long time work experience.
At least 2 years of experience of in depth overhaul, service and repair of high or medium speed engines, preferably in the marine industry or power plant industries.
Understanding of the business on both technical and commercial levels.
IT Proficient with experience of Microsoft Office.
Fluent in English and able to write Technical Reports.
Strong networker, engaging, well aware of the local market and within MAN-ES.
Ability to liaise and communicate at all levels in the business as well as intercultural skills and understanding.
Very good coordination, organized and communication skills in a highly dynamic environment with high attention to details
Culturally aware and able to work in foreign locations with minimal local support.
Results driven, ability to develop and retain key business, consultant and customer relationships.

Where we need you

As a Field Service Engineer you will mainly be travelling to our customers sites/vessels from home but may be required to visit the office or workshop in Stockport on occasion for supporting works.
