Business Analyst

General Summary:

Velocity is seeking to hire a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst is responsible for delivering analysis, insights, and training that enhance organizational understanding and elevate the effectiveness of Velocity’s resources. This role combines analytical skills with strategic insight to drive process improvements and provide meaningful guidance to leadership.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytics and reporting experience.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine forecast models focused on supply chain and field services management.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to assess business operations and outcomes.
• Offer strategic guidance to organizational leaders.
• Lead business process improvement initiatives.
  
  

Ancillary Responsibilities:

• Mentor team members in the areas of:
• Business process analysis, design, negotiation, documentation and implementation
• Project Management
• Technical Writing
• Data analysis
• Review and edit executive presentations for teams in Warehouse, Dispatch, Production, and Field Services.
• Analyze business data to uncover the root causes of operational challenges.
  
  

Qualifications, Experience & Education:

• Adept at critical thinking and the discernment of truth
• Obsession with detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with resources in all disciplines and levels in an organization.
• Ability to analyze large data sets to gain insights and draw sensible conclusions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing.
• Ability to create clear and concise visualizations to explain complex ideas.
• An understanding of standard business processes and the ability to tailor work outputs to the specific needs and limitations of an organization.
• Ability to independently identify skill gaps and self-educate.
• Rudimentary understanding and practical experience with:
• Service delivery
• Corporate Finance and Accounting
• Warehousing
• Manufacturing Process
• Supply Chain Management
• Project Management
• Proficient in standard MS Office tools.
• 5 plus years of experience in diverse business environments including project work and service delivery.
• AAS or bachelor’s degree in business, technology or equivalent training and experience.
