Job Title: Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and manage in-house analytical reports and dashboards using Power BI.
Implement and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity, governance, and compliance in Power BI Service.
Utilize Power Query (M) and DAX to develop custom solutions for complex business problems.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into scalable, data-driven reports.
Administer and manage Power BI workspaces, including governance, security, sharing, and access controls.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate data sources from Azure SQL, Data Warehousing, and other databases.
Optimize performance of Power BI reports by fine-tuning data models, measures, and visualizations.
Document both technical designs and business processes, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality of outputs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the Power BI environment, providing support to end-users.
Perform testing, validation, and performance tuning of Power BI reports and data models.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including data modelling, report creation, and performance optimization.
Strong knowledge of Power Query M and DAX is essential, with the ability to write complex queries and calculations.
Proven ability to manage and govern Power BI Service environments, including workspace administration, security, and deployment pipelines.
Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) and data transformation techniques.
Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights and explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, handling multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
Proven experience in interpreting requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

Nice to have:

Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and other data integration tools.
Familiarity with Azure SQL database and Azure DevOps.
Exposure to working in Agile and DevOps-driven environments.
Knowledge of API integration for data ingestion in Power BI reports.
