Responsibilities (subject to change, modification as needed) are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Undertakes a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques for moderate sized projects or selected segments of a larger project.
  • Responsible for preparation of clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings. Works under supervision from more experienced/senior staff.
  • Adheres to Engineering CAD and BIM standards for all disciplines.
  • Makes recommendations for standards and drafting processes that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Assists with collecting data for reports and correspondence.
  • Performs construction administration, drawing review, and response to RFI’s.
  • May assist in field work. Available to travel, as needed, dependent upon specific project assignments. 5% of time reserved for travel.
  • Designs and develops Technology Systems including Ethernet, Wireless, Data, Phone, and Technology Communications systems.
  • Creates site design plans for telecommunications and service provider coordination.
  • Plans and coordinates layouts for telecommunications and Low Voltage Equipment rooms.
  • Designs and coordinates interior building cable pathways and spaces, including cable trays, conduit stubs, and sleeves.
  • Develops Technology grounding and bonding systems.
  • Specifies and integrates system clocks.
  • Collaborates with owner’s consultants for Security Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection Systems design integration.
  • Coordinates with owner’s consultants to obtain system requirements and incorporates devices and specifications into drawings.
  • Designs and specifies Distributed Antenna Systems, including First Responder and Cell Phone Signal Amplification systems.
  • Creates Audio/Visual System layouts for conferencing, collaboration, and presentation systems in conference rooms, huddle rooms, and meeting rooms.
  • Develops Digital Signage Systems and related equipment.
  • Plans equipment room layouts, including fire stopping details and HVAC design criteria.
  • Designs low voltage wiring systems for Building Management Systems, including monitoring and reporting of generators, HVAC, lighting control, and electrical load status.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree from a technical college or university; or 6+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience in the field of Engineering.
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) preferred.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit (or 3D modeling); experience with scheduling software, specification software, and standard business software (MSOffice, Adobe suite, Google docs).
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specific field of engineering.
  • This job is only available in EST or CST time zones.
