The Senior Associate, BOI Strategic Initiatives will support all aspects of Cityblock’s Burden of Illness (BOI, aka Risk Adjustment) operations, including strategic planning, program management, and vendor management. In addition, the role places strong emphasis on data analytics - in order to provide strategic guidance based on data-driven insights - as well as clear and concise communications (written and oral) to cross-functional teams and leadership.

The BOI team is responsible for a critical portion of Cityblock’s annual company objectives. As such, this role must excel at creating deliverables under pressure and with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses using data models created and vetted by dedicated Analytics teams (e.g. analyze provider performance data, scheduling data)

  • Create datasets and dashboards in Google Sheets and/or Looker to assist frontline / operational teams with executing their BOI objectives.

  • Collaborate with market-based teams, and provide consultative guidance, to help each market achieve their individual BOI objectives

  • Closely manage vendors - track performance to targets, maintain ongoing list of open items via regular meetings, review invoices against budget, etc.

  • Collaborate with other central / corporate teams to develop cohesive programs and supports for market-based / frontline teams. Including developing novel approaches to align strategy and operations between the BOI team and other central teams - namely Quality/HEDIS - to help achieve shared goals.

Requirements for the Role

  • Bachelor’s

  • At least 3 years of work experience

  • Attention to detail. Ability to break down a large-scale program / project into a highly organized plan for ongoing management and oversight. Proficiency with project management tools e.g. Clickup.

  • Proficiency with SQL and spreadsheet analyses via Microsoft Office / Google Suite. Must be highly comfortable with data interpretation and visualization (e.g. Tableau, Looker). Ability to synthesize strategic recommendations from data.

  • Comfortable with taking ambiguous problem statements, developing an organized and thoughtful framework for thinking, conducting research, and generating recommendations and proposals to leadership.

  • Proficiency with creating written presentations via Microsoft Office / Google Suite. Able to speak articulately and convey key points to wide variety of audiences, including leadership, market / frontline teams, and vendors.
