We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the 8x8 engineering team that is involved in the entire life cycle of development, from the browser to the database.
You will be part of the team that owns high performance, mission critical services, from design to development, deployment and operation at scale.
Get the chance to work in a microservices architecture, add new features, solve day-to-day problems and contribute to system wide technical improvements. All this in an agile run project that is continuously deployed in Kubernetes clusters hosted in AWS.
If you enjoy working on highly performant serverside technologies, in a cloud environment, building APIs, testing, deploying, troubleshooting, fine tuning with keen focus on production stability and uptime this opportunity is perfect for you.

Responsibilities

Design and implement technical solutions that satisfy Product requirements
Satisfy NFR-s, with special emphasis on Security and Observability
Engage in the Continuous Improvement process
Interactions with other Teams and Stakeholders
Build services with quality and high availability in mind
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
Prepare and produce releases of software components
Support Continuous Improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Qualifications

Strong technical skills across Java, SQL, Spring web and database technologies
Excellent development experience with Java REST web services
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
Expertise in Linux
Spring ecosystem know-how
Proficiency in Database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
Good knowledge of Distributed Systems
Good knowledge of NFR-s analysis and implementation
Deliver beautiful and well tested code
Exposure to AWS (or other Public Cloud)
Very good understanding of design patterns and microservices
Experience with test automation at the unit and integration levels.
