Our work also brings us into direct collaboration with major ecosystems such as Solana Labs, Consensys, and BNB Chain. We’re just getting started, and we want you to help us shape the future of money!

About the Role:

We are looking for an EDD Specialist to join our Operations Team.

This role offers unparalleled access to the heart of the crypto and fintech industries. You will be responsible for conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients, investigating potential red flags, and ensuring that Mercuryo remains compliant with global regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with Compliance, FinCrime, and Operational teams to refine policies, enhance risk assessment methodologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal frameworks.

If you want to impact Mercuryo's growth and the wider crypto ecosystem while staying at the forefront of regulatory trends and innovations, this is your chance!

Your Role:

  • Perform in-depth EDD reviews on high-risk clients and accounts, verifying sources of funds/wealth, customer activities, and risk factors.
  • Investigate potential red flags identified during onboarding, ongoing monitoring, or escalated alerts.
  • Analyse customer profiles during onboarding and throughout the customer lifecycle, assigning appropriate risk profiles based on Mercuryo’s internal Risk Assessment Methodology.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative reports for internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and auditors.
  • Escalate cases for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or equivalent filings, ensuring compliance with applicable jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, FinCrime, and Operational teams to enhance internal controls and policies.
  • Support the development and refinement of EDD and AML/CTF frameworks tailored to the regulatory landscapes impacting Mercuryo.
  • Stay informed about global regulatory changes, particularly in cryptocurrency regulations.
  • Use advanced tools and platforms to identify and investigate suspicious activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of investigations and findings.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • CAMS, ICA, or equivalent AML certification is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EDD role, preferably within the fintech sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks such as FATF, FinCEN, and FCA.
  • Proficiency in OSINT research tools and methodologies.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive market rate salary and performance-based incentives.
  • 22 days annual leave with an additional 6 company days, plus bank holidays.
  • Comprehensive health insurance plans.
  • Extensive benefits program.
  • Flexible work schedule and remote work options.
  • Modern offices and co-working spaces across 6 countries.
  • Working equipment.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Opportunity to shape the initiatives you’re working on.
  • Diverse and friendly team.
  • We are open-minded to new ideas.
