Description

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We’ve been building businesses on Amazon for more than 15 years and we continue to be on the forefront as Amazon platforms evolve. We’re uncomfortable calling ourselves experts - since Amazon is always changing, we’re constantly adapting - but the breadth of our knowledge is vast and our team’s diverse experiences elevate our partners’ businesses. We’re marketers, advocates, data scientists, supply chain managers, Amazonians, advertisers and merchants. But most importantly, we’re brand builders. Let’s build brands together.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Brand Analyst works autonomously with limited intervention from the Manager, Insights & Analytics and proactively works side-by-side POD leaders to seek and recommend reporting needs and optimizations, as well as new business opportunities. They will help our brands bridge the gap between advertising strategies and e-commerce performance to generate actionable insights, improve performance transparency, and facilitate successful goal setting. This candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to create simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results in a clear and easy-to-understand way.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Own the design and development of high impact, scalable, and automated reporting solutions that resonate with customer needs and tell a compelling story with data.
  • Seek to understand all product requirements, technical blockers/challenges, and various business/category intricacies to provide a higher level of insights and analytics.
  • Responsible for complex data wrangling - gathering, cleaning, transforming, and organizing raw, unstructured data into a structured and usable format for analysis, modeling, and visualization - and evaluating data output for accuracy.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with retail, marketing, operations, data science, and engineering internal stakeholders.
  • Become the expert on the brands you work with to make holistic recommendations that improve their performance.
  • Work side-by-side with business stakeholders to propose and conduct ad-hoc analyses that align with business goal objectives and support growth strategies.
  • Lead on brand agnostic analytics & team continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between cross-functional partners & brand analytics to propose new organization-level analytics opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentorship to less senior analyst team members.
  • Present data insights and recommendations to a wide range of audiences (including leaders, technical and non-technical) both internally and externally.
  • Champion new opportunities to streamline processes, improving Brand Analyst team collaboration and knowledge share.
  • Partner with business owners for successful goal setting by facilitating regular goal evaluations and reporting enhancements.
  • Leverage data analytics tools and software to extract actionable insights from market data, sales reports, and consumer behavior metrics.
  • Conduct thorough competitive analysis – assess market & industry trends and new emerging opportunities within a product category.

Knowledge/Skills that you possess:

  • Advanced business and analytical acumen
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced experience with various Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced ability in defining metrics and developing reporting solutions to answer complex business questions
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate analytics findings to diverse audiences (including executives and leadership)
  • Demonstrated ability to convert abstract concepts / data into actionable insights
  • Exposure to digital advertising and e-commerce
  • Demonstrated experience with project management as well as continuous improvement / lean principles
  • Excellent at fostering trusting relationships with cross-functional partners and teammates
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent analytical experience
  • 4+ years of analytical experience with at least 2 years in a previous analyst role.
  • Prior analytics experience within a B2C/CPG organization and a strong demonstrated understanding of various inputs/levers that impact business results
  • Expert-level Excel and advanced experience in building dashboards using data visualization tools such as Tableau / Power BI
  • Advanced SQL to manipulate and analyze large data sets (joins, CTEs)
  • Adept at gathering and distilling product requirements in order to influence analytics needs with a diverse audience, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian (Jira, Trello) or other task/project management tools
  • Direct Amazon experience (Amazon Marketing Cloud, Vendor & Seller Central, Helium 10, Junglescout Cobalt)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Statistical methods (regression analysis, predictive models & forecasting)
  • Familiarity/knowledge of scripting for automation (i.e. Python)
  • Demonstrated understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma)
