Job description

Overview:

The Director of EMR Strategy & Informatics leads the execution of key strategic EMR integrated products and other data-driven initiatives within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health informatics, electronic health record systems, and health IT operations. This individual will be responsible for driving innovation, optimizing health information systems, and enhancing clinical workflows to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

 

Position Location

This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of strategic EMR integrated products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive EMR strategy to support the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient healthcare operations.

EMR System Management:

  • Oversee the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of EMR products across the organization.
  • Ensure the integration of EMR systems with other health information systems to enhance data interoperability and patient care coordination.

Data-Driven Initiatives:

  • Lead key data-driven initiatives to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for innovation within the EMR framework.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, c-suite and administration, to design and implement effective EMR solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for EMR initiatives.

Project Management:

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for EMR initiatives, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners to evaluate and implement new EMR technologies and solutions.

Training and Support:

  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in EMR practices.
  • Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy services industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and machine learning frameworks.

Strong project management skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Leverage big data and analytics tools to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decisions across marketing, sales, and operations.

Performance Measurement:

  • Design and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of commercial strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with senior management, marketing, sales, and operations teams to align analytics initiatives with business objectives.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Continuously seek and implement improvements in analytical methodologies, tools, and practices to enhance business intelligence and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Work in partnership with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Account Management to win and retain
Qualifications:

Education:                 

  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field required.

Experience:   

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in health informatics, electronic health record systems, and health IT operations.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic EMR initiatives and data-driven projects within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and big data technologies.

Certifications:

  • Certified Professional in Health Information Management (CPHIM) or similar certification preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • EPIC Certifications is a plus
  • 340b ACE is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong background in using advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Scala.
  2. Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with a proven track record of leading teams to success.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and influencing senior management.
