Job description

As a result of continued high growth we are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team. This is a key commercial role within our Finance Team. The individual must have previous experience of working within a professional services firm, dealing with numerous stakeholders in a high change, fast paced environment. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to the senior leaders of BFY, adding strategic value through insights and ensuring the smooth operating of the finance function.  

Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, adaptability and flexibility will be key. Your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, maintaining and improving robust procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up. Core aspects of the role are as follows; 

  • Prepare all weekly and monthly reporting including management accounts, cashflow, and preparing and presenting analysis as required 
  • Oversee month end close 
  • Ensure all payment approvals, including VAT and Corporation Tax are fully prepared, approved and paid in a timely manner and in line with HMRC & VAT processes 
  • Review, control and sign off payroll monthly ensuring a seamless service for the BFY team 
  • Realise maximum return for BFY by applying effective Treasury management strategies 
  • Ensure effective processes are in place and applied for budgeting and forecasting monthly, quarterly and annually 
  • Day to day operational and performance management of bookkeeper 
  • Commercial support and ad hoc project work, identifying risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout 

Requirements

We are looking for people who have the following:  

  • Experience of working in high change, fast paced environments in professional services or scale up business 
  • Experience of acting as a trusted business partner, creating tangible value through analysis and insights 
  • ACA or ACCA fully qualified 
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling capabilities 
  • Experience with creating statutory accounts would be advantageous  
  • Proficient with budget and forecasting processes  
  • A team player who will seamlessly fit with the BFY culture and team 
  • Previous leadership experience
