What You'll Do
As a Software Development Engineer in Test II at Dental Intelligence, you will play a key role in ensuring the overall quality of the product by creating and reviewing test cases, developing comprehensive end-to-end test plans, and identifying potential gaps and edge cases. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the automation roadmap. With a strong understanding of customer needs and product functionality, you will actively participate in agile team processes, provide technical expertise, and maintain a high standard of operational excellence. You will also demonstrate a strong work ethic, embrace a growth mindset, and act as a trusted resource for the team.

Role Specifics & Key Responsibilities:

1. Ownership of Customer Experience
  • Test Case Creation & Reviews: Ensure thorough test case creation and review processes to prevent production bugs and issues.
  • Product Quality Responsibility: Oversee the overall quality of the product across multiple features, ensuring a seamless and reliable customer experience.
  • Customer Knowledge: Possess a moderate understanding of customer needs and pain points, using that knowledge to improve product quality.
  • Strategic Focus: Act with a strategic focus, positively influencing the direction of at least one scrum team, with impact beyond the immediate team.
  • Team Participation: Actively engage in team meetings, including Backlog Grooming, User Story Creation, Standups, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Test Planning: Think about and implement effective end-to-end (E2E) test plans for features that span across multiple domains, teams, and products.
2. Collaboration & Leadership
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members, leading by example.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as Product, Engineering, Support, Systems, and other teams to build productive working relationships.
  • Automation Roadmap: Contribute to the implementation of the technical and automation roadmap.
  • Cross-team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with peers, leads, and other teams on different domains or product areas.
  • Mentoring Associate Engineers: Lead and mentor Associate QA I Engineers, setting a positive example and fostering team growth.
3. Technical & Product Expertise
  • Test Data Creation: Have a solid understanding of how to create and utilize test data for effective testing.
  • Technical Documentation: Possess strong technical documentation skills. Read and understand existing documentation, and create new documentation to help the team.
  • Product Understanding: Display good technical understanding of DI products and their architecture, contributing to product quality with attention to detail.
4. Operational & Functional Excellence
  • Test Strategy & Design: Contribute to the creation of Test Cases, Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Automation Architecture & Design.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure tests and strategies meet the product’s goals.
  • Advanced Product Understanding: Gain an advanced understanding of the product being tested, identifying gaps and edge cases to improve quality.
  • Tools & Flow Knowledge: Be knowledgeable in using PMS sync/bridge tools and understand the product management system (PMS) flow.
  • Urgency & Productivity: Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and prioritize tasks effectively to meet team goals and deadlines.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience
  • 3 years of related experience
  • 2+ years of project/client engagement/ customer facing experience 
  • Experience creating test strategies, test plans, and test cases, leading test case reviews and code reviews, acceptance & regression testing, automation design and implementation, configuring tests in CI/CD
  • Postman or similar experience, Playwright or a similar automation framework experience
  • Dental Intelligence product experience a plus
  • ISQTB or a similar certification is a plus
