Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Manager of Patient Financial Services who will lead a team responsible for contracting and licensing, accurately verifying patient benefits and insurances, resolving funding inquiries and collections to support GRC’s financial goals. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by managing contracting, licensing, benefits verification, determining patient liability, and performs financial counseling to support patients and their families. 


This position supervises the work of others and receives regular supervision and instruction from the Director. 


Responsibilities

  • Manages the Patient Benefit Coordinators, Contract/Licensing Administrator, EVS/Midnight Sun Officer and support staff.  
  • Oversees the following functions:

          Patient Benefit Coordinators 

          Contract/Licensing 

          State Eligibility System – Midnight Sun

          Pharmacy Audits/Reports

          Self-Pay and Collections

          Accounts receivable Support Specialist

          MOUD/MAUD Support Services

          Allegheny County budget 

  • Communicates promptly with all health care payers and state eligibility system for prompt and efficient problem resolutions. 
  • Provides strong communication, data analysis and reports to a third-party collection agency.
  • Provides oversite and communication regarding patient funding and collection of patient liabilities.
  • Communicates with GRC staff, our customers and patients regarding issues that arise throughout the patient treatment cycle.   
  • Develops and implements procedures for all areas of responsibility. 
  • Generates, reviews, and distributes various EHR, verification and collections reports to management. 
  • Conducts quality assurance audits and informs various committees of the findings.   
  • Monitors staff productivity and completes staff performance coaching sessions.   
  • Makes corrections to the patient electronic health records when appliable. 
  • Develops the staff work schedules, coordinates arrangements for staff coverage and provides position coverage during staff absences.      
  • Conducts departmental meetings. 
  • Interviews applicants for department vacancies and provides staff trainings. 
  • Monitors the department budget with guidance from the Director. 
  • Engages in various meetings and committees which includes on site meeting participation.
  • Attends GRC mandatory trainings and in-services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Advance mathematical knowledge to handle complex calculations. 
Requirements

  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience preferred.
  • Post high school education preferred.
  • Financial services experience preferred.  

Additional Requirements 

  • Pass a PA Criminal Background Check.
  • Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  • Pass Drug Screen.
  • TB Test.
