Job Summary
The Owner’s Representative is responsible for managing projects in the Mission Critical sector, acting as the owner’s liaison with general contractors, design teams, engineers, site staff, and transition groups from project initiation through completion.

This position oversees all aspects of a construction project on behalf of an owner or developer, including:
  • Assisting with permitting processes
  • Evaluating bid proposals
  • Developing a construction master plan and schedule
  • Conducting site inspections
  • Facilitating communication
  • Monitoring safety practices
  • Ensuring compliance with owner requirements, laws, and specifications
The Owner’s Representative operates with limited supervision and is expected to lead and assist project teams on complex assignments. This role requires strong communication skills and alignment with both organizational and client goals.

Essential Functions
Project Management & Execution
  • Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning through closeout.
  • Forecast and coordinate resources and materials effectively.
  • Assist in developing RFPs, evaluating bids, selecting contractors, and negotiating contracts.
  • Ensure smooth pre-construction activities, including RFIs, schedules, and submittals.
  • Manage site progress from groundbreaking to completion, including inspections, punch lists, and Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Monitor and coordinate commissioning activities and project closeout.
Financial Oversight
  • Ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to control deviations in cost and timelines.
  • Assist in developing cost schedules and progress billing.
  • Manage change orders and pay application processes.

Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Serve as the primary contact for the offsite owner, maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through active, transparent communication.
  • Provide direction to internal and external project teams.
Team Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Mentor and train associates, fostering a learning-oriented environment.
  • Contribute to organizational training and standards development.
  • Provide input on performance reviews and career development of junior staff.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain daily digital reporting, including narrative and photographic documentation.
  • Assist with contract administration.
  • Track project hours and deliverables using company tools.
  • Complete required departmental reports.


Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of construction project management and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of:
  • Construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Method of Procedure (MOP) processes and IT network protection during construction.
  • DC and AC power systems in mission-critical facilities.
  • Telecom or data center construction project management.
  • Experience managing $1M+ projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore).
Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday for the duration of a project, with occasional non-traditional hours.
  • Must adhere to company and site safety protocols.
  • Must be able to:
  • Move through office and critical facility environments.
  • Occasionally climb ladders to access equipment.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • 80% travel required across the Continental U.S.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field
OR
  • Two (2) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
PLUS 

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in mission-critical construction, power facilities, or similar technical environments.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supervising others.
