We are responsible for the implementation of a new go-to market strategy within the US Sanofi Vaccines business unit and searching for a Regional General Manager to pave the pathway forward with us. 

 

The Sanofi Vaccines team aim is to remain an industry leader through evolving the way we operate and build our new business model. This model will be responsive to fast changing customer needs and environment, engage in a Business-to-Business activities model that supports the growth of HCPs vaccine programs, with the right support to engage customers in the moments that matter in vaccines, while rewarding high performers and growth of our vaccines business. 

 

The Regional General Manager will report to the Head of Sales and will lead a team of Area Business Managers (ABM) and Division Business Associate Directors (DBAD). They are responsible for leading and directing the business and sales execution for the Region. Their sales team is responsible for engaging key stakeholders within Pediatrics, Family/General Practice, IDN/IHNs, Health Systems, standalone and complex hospital accounts, and Federally Qualified Health Centers. The Regional General Manager is an individual with a consistent track record of leading sales team to top tier sales performance sales record that will capitalize on strategic accounts, be a self-starter and love working in a dynamic environment with an amazing team of people. Main Responsibilities: 

  • Implement the vaccine portfolio commercial strategy and lead a region to achieve or exceed sales objectives by communicating a compelling and inspired vision. 

  • Plan, track, reinforce, and document measures of sales force effectiveness and performance at the regional level in order to meet national sales objectives. 

  • Be an expert on your relative business area and build robust regional business plans that break down impactable business targets by products, segments (Independents, LOCs, etc) and contracting modalities (PBGs, etc).   

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of financial accountability for the region including revenue maximization and budget management. 

  • Deliver and adapt business plans to achieve performance goals 

  • Lead and conduct formal regional business reviews with NA Senior Leadership 

  • Demonstrate initiative and analytical insight to ensure that regional market trends, competitor activities, barriers and drivers, challenges, and opportunities, are effectively communicated across Commercial Operations.  

  • Absorb complex and diverse information, recognize trends and interrelationships, and seek long-term solutions at the Regional, National, and cross-functional level 

  • Provide cross-functional leadership to Marketing, Market Access, Sales Training & Development, Sales Operations & Analytics, and other business partners 

  • Support teams to navigate and communicate complex contracting and pricing 

  • Coach/train team members to identify key business opportunities and navigate those settings to identify key points of contacts to drive business 

  • Work collaboratively with other customer facing teams to prioritize account needs; share partnership opportunities with the hospital and Account management team 

  • Partner and work very closely with commercial excellence to evaluate and refine sales processes, identify areas for improvement, implement efficiency measures, and foster a culture of continuous improvement 

  • Maintain a high performing team through recruiting, hiring, training, and developing to a high standard 

  • Creates an environment that fosters and cultivates the development of an engaging culture focused on ensuring diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of decisions 

  • Build and maintain employee morale and motivation, and encourage development of sales managers in all phases of their work including career development 

 

About You

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • Minimum of 15 years of Biotech / Pharma experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years Regional or Area Sales management or similar level people management experience required 

  • Previous experience in Home Office/Headquarters role or significant commercial leadership experience (e.g. Market Access) required  

  • Proven track record to meet and/or exceed business targets 

  • Enterprise mindset focused on overall commercial success 

  • Strong leadership skills combined with demonstrated commitment towards coaching and people development; effective at building teams; an inspirational/motivational leader creating a high-performance culture 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and influence peers and educate management regarding regional needs 

  • Negotiation skills required and ability to influence senior leaders, both internally and externally. 

  • Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, and require the same of his/her team

  • Ability to travel within region on a regular basis which may include frequent overnight and weekend travel 

  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MBA preferred 

  • Specific knowledge of vaccine sales or buy and bill, distribution, administration, and reimbursement 

  • Launch experience within the last 4 years, preferably from a leadership position 

  • Experience in launching new sales teams 

  • Experience with organized customers at the executive level and delivering an executive value proposition for acute care or vaccine products

The salary range for this position is $202,500.00 - 270,000.00 USD Annually. In addition to sales incentive (role may my eligible for long term incentive depending on level and performance); all compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
