Associate Observability Engineer

We are seeking an Associate Observability Engineer to join our growing Observability Team. Observability services are a vital part of keeping Five9 customers happy by determining our infrastructure and applications are working as expected.

This individual will support our Observability platform (Metrics and Logs) as we continue to provide the best Observability services to Five9.

Key Responsibilities:

Tier 1 maintenance / support of Observability Tools. Examples of duties:
- Provisioning of Users
- Answer Questions from other teams
- Working through Jira tickets
- Creating dashboarding
- Setting up new alerts
- Modifying Thresholds
Tier1 OS Support. Examples of duties:
- Deploying new servers
- Patching servers
- Troubleshooting server crashes
Support developers with deploying and maintaining application servers
Receive instructions from Manager / Staff Engineers and be able to achieve the work with guidance from other team members.

Requirements

1-2 years experience as an SRE or similar experience with public cloud operators specifically GCP and AWS
1-2 years experience with Linux administration (CentOS / Ubuntu)
1-2 years experience with Network concepts using tools like ping,netstat, and similar tools
Strong ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly

Preferred:

1-2 years experience with kubernetes /docker
1-2 years experience with deploying applications with helm charts
1-2 years experience with hypervisor technologies ( vmware / kvm)
Have used Observability tools such as Grafana/Prometheus for metrics, Elastic/Grafana Loki/ Splunk for logging, Grafana Tempo for tracing, New Relic/AppDynamics for APM
