The Mission:

At GetYourGuide, the Engineering team is constantly pushing the boundaries and finding new ways to bring the magic of travel to people all over the world.

We’re organized in cross-functional mission teams, which are composed of software engineers, mobile engineers, data engineers, product managers, and designers.

You will: 

• Work with engineers, designers, and analysts
• Help to enable your mission team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching and iterating on A/B experiments
• Maintain high-quality standards and continuously improve our code base, systems and processes
• Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale
• Mentor other team members and be involved with hiring
• Contribute to the team’s roadmap and long-term strategy
• Work with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, TypeScript, SASS, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Kafka, Kubernetes

Who you are: 

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in web application development using component based frameworks 
• High proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, TypeScript
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with writing tests
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable and maintainable code
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others

Bonus points for:

• Knowledge of frameworks and toolchains such as Node.js, Vue.js or similar component based Frontend frameworks and libraries
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building and event-based analytics
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environments
