Job description

Join us as a Senior Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d) in our Ridepooling Intelligence Unit on a shared journey that matters!

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Quality Specialist to join our Ridepooling Intelligence domain. This role will focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our backend services, contributing to key operational functions that keep our ridepooling services running smoothly and efficiently.

As a Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing quality processes across backend services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive high-quality software delivery. If you are passionate about automation, API testing, and enabling teams to own quality, we want you on board!

What you will do
  • Work across multiple teams, ensuring end-to-end quality of backend APIs and services.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to define and maintain a strong quality strategy across multiple services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated tests for gRPC, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring seamless integration of backend services across the Ridepooling domain.
  • Perform automated end-to-end testing, focusing on critical workflows such as trip ordering, service configuration, and dispatching.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and support the teams in adopting best practices in test automation and quality assurance.
  • Investigate production and integration test issues, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure rapid resolution and prevention of recurring issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developers and fellow QAs, fostering a strong quality mindset within the teams.
  • Evaluate and integrate new tools and frameworks to improve test efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promote a shift-left approach, enabling earlier detection of issues in the development lifecycle.
What will help you to fulfill your role
  • Hands-on experience with backend test automation, using tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST Assured or similar API testing frameworks.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python and JVM languages(Java, Kotlin, Scala etc.).
  • Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed backend systems, including cloud-based deployments on AWS.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to ensure continuous quality in deployments.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, and the ability to analyze logs for better issue resolution.
  • A growth mindset, eager to learn new technologies and help teams expand their quality capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to ask the “right” questions during development and testing.

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role since we are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests. We are certain that there will be something for everyone because we are working on such a variety of tasks and embrace individual growth at MOIA.
