Job description

Role: Network Engineer
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6 Months+
Work Hours: US Time
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in Costa Rica or Mexico)

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the coverage and capacity statistical analysis of satellite networks.
Technical and statistical analysis for various scenarios involving satellite communication links
Evaluate actual usage along with forecasted usage based on expected growth and feature support.
Review weekly satellite performance and provide reports on action areas.
Support capacity requirement development for satellite networks by evaluating actual usage along with forecasted usage based on expected growth and feature support.
Support development of budget for regional capital requirements and corresponding data costs

Must have:

Operations experience
A lot of troubleshooting
Protocols
BGP strong exp
SD wan (any vendor)
Worked for an enterprise environment or internal IT NOT supporting networking services to a client
Must have a valid passport and be able to travel to work onboard ships.

Satellite experience
Starlink exp
Leo satellite connectivity
VSAT

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technology.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the satellite and/or telecommunications industry.
Technical competency in the following areas:
Satellite systems
Communication system performance analysis
Demonstrated ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills including technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
