Job Title: Senior Commissions Analyst

Location: Open to Full-Remote (Utah-based candidates welcome to work in-office as desired)

Reporting To: Senior Accounting Manager

Team Structure: The Senior Commissions Analyst will work closely with a Senior Accounting Manager, their Senior Commission Analyst Counter-Part and a Commissions Analyst, with potential for future direct report responsibilities and Manager promotion

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Commissions Analyst to join our dynamic team within an established SaaS Company. This role will focus on commissions calculations, ensuring the accuracy and integration of commissions data with our accounting & commission systems, and troubleshooting any system-related issues. The ideal candidate will have experience with commissions, a strong foundation in Excel, and an ability to interface with both the commissions and accounting teams to ensure smooth, accurate monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissions Management:
  • Calculate and track commissions for various subsidiaries, employment groups, and commission plans.
  • Interface with the Commissions Analyst to ensure monthly journal entries are reasonable and aligned with commission calculations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the commissions system and supervise the Commissions Analyst who is supporting troubleshooting as well
  • Ensure system accuracy by incorporating plan updates and making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate commission data is passed to payroll for timely processing.
  • Maintain and update employee contracts and employment terms within the commissions system to ensure commissions are calculated correctly.
  • System Management & Integration:
  • Manage and leverage the commissions system for accurate commission tracking.
  • Collaborate with the commissions team to monitor and resolve discrepancies between contracts, deals, and commissions data.
  • Input new employment contracts due to acquisitions and ensure integration with commissions systems and payroll.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Act as a key liaison between accounting and commissions teams to address issues and optimize processes.
  • Provide regular reporting on commissions metrics, including any errors, findings, or system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with commissions policies, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Commissions Experience:
  • Proven experience in commissions calculation and system management.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply compensation plans to ensure accurate commission calculations.
  • System Proficiency:
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, with the ability to perform complex data manipulations and analysis.
  • Experience with a commissions management system (or similar systems).
  • Familiarity with integrations between systems such as customer relationship management (CRM) and human resources platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on identifying and correcting errors in commission calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues in the system and workflows.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams (including accounting, commissions, payroll, and HR).
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, to provide reports and updates to management and other stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with commissions management systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with integrating new employment contracts from acquisitions.
  • Background in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
