Your mission
This is a transformative role working in close partnership with the Head of Natural Capital, Natural Capital Partnerships Director and Head of Operations to catalyse Zulu Ecosystems’ platform and existing traction into a formidable financial enterprise in service of nature and climate. The Natural Capital Manager (Scotland) will play a pivotal role in developing Zulu Ecosystems capabilities and offering in and across Scotland. This opportunity will include being responsible for project pipeline, fostering strategic partnerships, and building relationships across NGOs to unlock new markets and revenue streams. Zulu Ecosystems currently operates in both Scotland and England. This role will build on that momentum to expand the pipeline of restoration activities across our main service offerings: Woodland Creation, Peatland Restoration, Lost Woodland Restoration, Natural Flood Mitigation and Biodiversity. 

Key Responsibilities  

  

  • Commercial Leadership: Source, develop and secure high-impact commercial relationships - with landowners, NGOs and stakeholders that will lead to new deals.
  • Marketing and community engagement: Organise and attend key events representing Zulu and be the key commercial contact within the region. 
  • Client Development: Maintain excellent long-term customer relationships and upsell Zulu Ecosystems service offering over the length of the project engagement. 
  • Go-to-Market - Responsible for building, in conjunction with our Head of Natural Capital, our commercial strategy for Natural Capital in Scotland. 
  • Structure deals: Build and negotiate project finance structures and modeling. 
  • Internal collaboration: work alongside the wider Origination, Product, R&D and Operations teams on building a pipeline of relevant projects at pace. Continue to build our data capability and enhance Zulu’s product offering.

  • Financial modelling and contract negotiation skillsCompelling presentation/pitching and client-facing skills

  • Strong academic record in a related field is an advantage
