ABOUT THE ROLE
At New Story, we pioneer solutions to end the global housing crisis by empowering families to become land and homeowners in thriving communities.

As the Content Marketing Writer at New Story, you'll create compelling content that drives donor, investor and low-income family engagement and supports our mission of impacting thousands more people with our land and home ownership strategy. You'll develop white papers, investment newsletters, pitch decks, video scripts, and social content that showcases our impact and engages stakeholders.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Produce quality writing that connects with target audiences, boosts engagement, and enhances brand awareness

  • Promote New Story’s mission and vision, attract investment, donations, and business partnerships through clear, compelling content

  • Market New Story through blog posts, newsletters, ebooks/white papers, email, and more

  • Increase website traffic by following SEO best practices

  • Complete writing assignments within project specifications and deadlines

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Strategic Content Creation

  • Plan a quarterly content calendar that supports business goals

  • Write investment-focused newsletters and/or donor newsletters

  • Plan and write monthly blog posts

  • Develop white papers and thought leadership content in partnership with external research partners 

  • Create compelling pitch decks and presentations

  • Write and edit video scripts for various platforms

  • Write social media copy across channels in partnership with external agency

  • Translate impact data into engaging stories

  • Turn our audience’s stories into compelling content for our audiences 

Fundraising & Investment Support

  • Write persuasive donor and/or investor communications

  • Collaborate on compelling grant narratives and pitch decks

  • Develop impact reports and case studies

  • Write brand and fundraising campaign materials

Brand Voice & Guidelines

  • Maintain consistent brand voice across all content

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure messaging alignment

  • Edit content for brand consistency

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with Impact Team on data storytelling

  • Support fundraising team with donor materials

  • Support investment team with investor materials

  • As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, contribute to campaigns

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years content writing experience

  • Strong portfolio showing range across formats

  • Experience writing investment/technical content and/or B2B content for various audiences

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Creative and strategic-thinking skills (ability to write with heart while advancing business goals)

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

We are prioritizing candidates in the United States (remote welcome), with a strong preference individuals located in Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, Austin, TX, Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY. Our offer will be commensurate with experience and location

  • Premium locations (New York and Los Angeles): $90,000-110,000 USD

  • Everywhere else: $80,000-95,000 USD

Adoption Reimbursement. For families who are willing to adopt, thank you! New Story will reimburse eligible team members up to $10,000 for adoption related expenses.

Intentional Gatherings. As a remote team, we recognize how valuable and rejuvenating in-person time can be. Whether it’s an all-company Team Summit, Fun Camp for fundraisers, or spontaneous department gathering, we set aside budget to gather in-person to have fun, reflect, and plan together.

Improve Through Learning. We believe in always learning and leveling up our skills. Whether it's paying for a conference, an online course, or books, an internal Hackathon, a Tea(m) Talk, or a lunch and learn, we invest in each team member so they can be the best at their craft.

Trips to the Field. It’s amazing to meet the families we help and see the homes up close and personal. You'll get to visit the work first hand in either Mexico or El Salvador. Prioritization will vary by role.
