Job description

Position Summary:

The Real Estate Development Project Manager will support the hiring client in overseeing real estate development projects from concept to completion. Working offshore but collaborating closely with Brisbane-based stakeholders, this role involves land acquisition, feasibility studies, council code compliance, coordinating with professionals for development approvals, and managing the construction process until project handover.

This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with experience in property development, project coordination, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Land Acquisition & Feasibility

  • Identify potential development sites in Brisbane, Australia.
  • Collaborate with real estate agents to secure viable land parcels.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including financial, legal, and operational assessments of potential sites.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals

  • Review and interpret local council codes and regulations for proposed developments.
  • Coordinate with town planners, engineers, architects, and draftsmen to prepare development approval (DA) packages.
  • Submit DA packages and manage communication with local councils to address queries or revisions.

3. Project Financing & Budget Management

  • Work with financial institutions to secure project financing post-approval.
  • Prepare project budgets and manage cost tracking throughout the development process.

4. Construction & Handover Management

  • Liaise with builders and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the construction process, addressing issues or delays in real-time.
  • Manage project handover to ensure all deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.

5. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Serve as the central point of communication between the Vargas Family Office and Brisbane-based stakeholders.
  • Provide regular progress updates, including milestones, financial tracking, and risk management.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure timely reporting to key stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in real estate development, project management, or a similar role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of local council regulations and Australian property laws (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience working with professionals such as architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in tools for project management and remote collaboration (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Slack).
  • Drafting skills is preferred but not required

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially in remote settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
