Senior Backend Engineer at Emotional Intelligence Co. (Remote, PH-based only)

We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer to work for our Europe - based client. For this role, we only process candidates that are based in the Philippines and have legal authorization to work in the Philippines.

About the OTA client

Your Role

• Build scalable systems: Help us develop and scale our architecture and tech stack to support millions of monthly active users (MAUs).

• Drive product innovation: Collaborate with the product team (content, design, growth) to define, develop, and deliver impactful features.

• Contribute across platforms: Support the continued success of our award-winning mobile app and expand its reach to hundreds of millions of users

• Be a core team member: As the third full-time engineer on the team, youll work alongside a rockstar UI/UX team and world-class technology advisors to build something extraordinary.

About You

Experienced in backend development:

• 8+ years working with TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and NestJS.
• Proficient in building APIs, integrating third-party libraries, and implementing GraphQL (bonus).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Services (GCP), Firebase, and CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.

Bonus - Major plus

• Experience with Kotlin or Swift and delivering mobile features like push notifications

• Experience with generative AI integration

• Experience with ML model integration and testing

Consumer product expertise:

• You've worked on consumer-facing apps, ideally with subscription-based models.

• You understand the balance between shipping quickly and maintaining high-quality engineering standards.

• Experience with Headless CMS, localization, and subscription platforms (e.g., RevenueCat) is a bonus.
