Back End Software Engineer (Python)

Reports to: Lead Engineer

Job Summary

As a Back End Engineer, you'll work on front- and back-end code to produce scalable software solutions. You'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the complete software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

Youll be part of a talented and experienced team headed by a lead engineer, building software used by thousands of customers and millions of consumers worldwide. Our modern technology stack includes Python, JavaScript and a wide variety of AWS services.

Essential Functions of the Job

Work in an agile environment to design, develop, test and deploy software. Collaborate with development teams and product managers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related field
At least one prior position or internship as a software engineer
Experience with databases tools such as PostgreSQL, AWS DynamoDB
Experience building and deploying Cloud Based applications.
Strong experience with Python
Familiarity with JavaScript
Knowledge of front-end debugging with browser developer tools
Comfortable with the Linux command line and Git
Ability to share a code sample and give a walkthrough

Bonus:

At least three years of professional experience as a software engineer
Knowledge of UI/UX design
Experience with application frameworks such as Flask/Django
Experience with web services, REST APIs
Experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EC2, S3)
